Dermal have a great opportunity for an experienced market access professional to join our friendly, dynamic and successful Sales and Marketing Department.

The successful candidate will operate in a positive and enabling culture where new ideas flourish and individuals really make a difference. Reporting directly to the Head of Sales and Marketing, you will have more scope, opportunity and accountability than in many other companies. Working alongside an experienced and successful sales and marketing team, your specific focus will be to research and develop new market access strategies, overseeing their implementation to market, and work on exciting new market projects.

Role Purpose:

To research, develop and implement access routes to the market for Dermal products with a strong emphasis on healthcare professional based NHS / private prescription, recommendation or community-based health and care supply routes. Investigate opportunities to broaden access for OTC sales.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide market research analysis for Dermal products.

  • Research the market, access routes, competitor activity, political and environmental changes that impact the supply of our products to market, on an ongoing basis.
  • Liaise with Promotional Marketing Manager to assist the promotional team with their preparation of the market research for the annual Promotional Plan.
  • Undertake special market research projects as required, to support business activities.

Investigate new market access opportunities to expand market for existing Dermal products.

  • Undertake research and collaborate with sales and marketing team and external stakeholders to provide recommendations on new opportunities for alternative routes for Dermal products.
  • Agree Market Access Strategy with HOSM.
  • Focus on prescription, recommendation, community-based health and care supplies and OTC channels for products that transition between these markets.

Key account liaison for Dermal products including wholesale and pharmacy chains and key opinion leaders.

  • Liaise with the UK National Sales Manager regarding opportunities for supporting Dermal products within the wholesale and pharmacy chain.
  • Work with key opinion leaders to support the availability of products.

Undertake reviews and co-ordinate responses for consultations around the availability of treatments on the market, reimbursement of NHS prescriptions.

  • Liaise with HOSM and other Senior Management to support the ongoing availability and reimbursement of Dermal products on the market.

Research market potential for new product opportunities.

  • Undertake market analysis and liaise with Marketing Technical Support Manager on guidelines for disease areas to prepare an initial proposal on market potential for New Product concepts in both prescription, recommendation, community-based health and care supplies and OTC settings.

Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Liaise with Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain to ensure smooth market access.

Work within the appropriate corporate and departmental quality procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate standards and market access regulations.
  • Maintain awareness and work to the appropriate quality procedures, including Pharmacovigilance, good distribution practice, health and safety and sales and marketing procedures.

You should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Innovative and successful approach to market access projects for pharmaceutical and/or medical devices healthcare industry.
  • Sales and marketing experience on products for healthcare professional prescription and recommendation for OTC purchase.
  • In depth knowledge of key drivers and access routes within NHS, private health and other healthcare markets.
  • An understanding of requirements from different sectors from secondary care, primary care, self-care, tenders and wholesaler to retail supply chain.
  • Ability to research, analyse and report on market opportunities. Health economics skills will be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills to work alongside internal and external stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with KOL and patient and professional associations.
